Present Your Good Side

Present Your Good Side

Obtaining good presentation skills takes practice. The reality is that most people are already ”just being themselves” when they present. And with the right presentation courses, you really can develop the skills and confidence needed to deliver an effective presentation.

Know what you need to say. If the presenter sounds credible, doesn’t stammer over his words, and makes his point clear. Your topic should be well researched and at the right level for the audience. You need to stay relaxed and not show your nerves or the audience will pick up on it. It also works to use natural humor as opposed to canned jokes.

How to say it. If the presenter is engaging and confident, the audience responds well. IT is also critical that the speaker deals with questions in some way. Either by answering them or tabling them so he/she can get an answer in a follow-up.

The audience response. It is important that when a presenter is done, the audience feels they learned something, it was not a waste of time, and they were not bored.

Be sure to write out what you are saying and then practice it until you know the format and points by heart. That way the information is there but you can step away from the formal speech format and speak naturally. This is apt to be more engaging.
